STUDENTS RESIDENCE
Porto, Portugal
This student residence was designed with balance in mind - between privacy and community, focus and rest. Spanning four floors, the building combines shared and individual spaces in a layout that supports both academic life and everyday living.
The ground floor is devoted to communal life, offering generous social areas: dining space, study rooms, and living zones that encourage informal gatherings and shared routines. Above, the private floors house a series of residential units, each conceived as a self-contained chamber with two bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom, entryway, living and dining areas, and a private balcony.
Each floor accommodates four of these units, along with a laundry area accessible to all floor residents. The repetition of this structure allows for efficiency without compromising comfort, and the modular layout ensures that students can feel at home while still being part of a wider community.
A practical approach to shared living, this project prioritises clarity, comfort, and the rhythms of student life.
